Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Appointments
*New Patients (including patients who haven’t been treated for 6+ months) must book an initial treatment so that we have time to review your health history and discuss your health goals before your treatment.*
Your treatment will include a discussion of your health history, acupuncture, and may include extras such as: Celluma Pro LED light therapy, far-infrared (FIR) heat therapy, silicone or fire cupping, guasha, a TCM herbal prescription, tuina, head and neck massage, dietary and lifestyle recommendations, and/or other treatment modalities at your and your practitioner’s discretion.
Commonly used to manage stress, pain, gynecological conditions and menstrual disorders such as painful periods, mood disorders, insomnia, digestive issues, headaches, acne and other skin concerns, inflammatory disorders such as allergic rhinitis, and much more.
60 minute follow-ups are the standard length, and are likely to include head massage, cupping, or another modality along with acupuncture.
45 minute follow-ups are for return patients who need a shorter acupuncture tune-up, without the cupping and other extras. Great for those who are returning for treatment bi-weekly.
75 minute follow-ups include extra time for cupping, head massage, tuina, or other modalities.
Cosmetic Acupuncture Appointments
*New clients must book an Initial Appointment. This includes extra time for a full health history and intake.*
Includes both facial and systemic (body) acupuncture, a relaxing facial cupping or guasha treatment using all-natural, non-comedogenic oil blends, a Celluma LED light therapy treatment customized for your skin concerns, and may include FIR (far infrared) heat therapy. A systemic, full-body treatment is included when you receive an acupuncture facial, helping to heal your skin concerns from the inside-out.
This treatment can address acne, rosacea, tight and/or weak facial muscles, skin changes associated with aging such as wrinkles and hyperpigmentation, or your specific skin concerns. It can also address other whole-body symptoms as it includes a full acupuncture treatment.
The 60 minute follow-up includes a brief face massage, facial guasha, or facial cupping.
The 75 minute follow-up includes 15 extra minutes to combine an acupressure face massage with either facial guasha or cupping. This extended treatment includes a fascial release treatment and a custom head and face massage to boost the effects of the treatment and leave you in a state of deep relaxation.
The 90 minute follow-up includes a full Wu’s Head Massage and Facial Guasha Treatment along with your Cosmetic Acupuncture treatment. This extended treatment includes a fascial release treatment and a custom head and face massage and facial guasha protocol to boost the effects of the treatment and leave you in a state of deep relaxation.
Cupping Appointments
This appointment is just the cupping! You’ll receive either silicone cupping, fire cupping, or a combination of the two based on your unique needs. The treatment will last up to 30 minutes, or may be slightly shorter depending on your needs and state of health.
*If you’re a new patient, you’ll be required to fill out the New Patient Intake Form before your appointment, even if it’s exclusively cupping, to ensure that cupping will be a safe and useful treatment for you. We’ll spend a little bit of time going over your health history during your first appointment.*
Signature Wu’s Head Massage & Facial Guasha Treatments
Wu’s Head Massage is a relaxing head (scalp, neck, and face) massage based on acupressure and Chinese Medicine theory. It’s calming and grounding, and is very beneficial for those experiencing stress, anxiety, insomnia, facial tension, and headaches. It also improves blood circulation to the face to impart a rosy glow, improves lymphatic drainage, and reduces the appearance of expression lines.
Peony Tree Medicine’s 30 minute Signature Wu’s Head Massage & Facial Guasha appointment also includes a targeted facial guasha treatment to release the tension you carry in your face, improve lymphatic drainage, and bring you into a state of deep relaxation.
The 45 and 60 minute treatments include an extensive head and neck guasha treatment to rejuvenate, smooth, and de-puff your face by: improving blood circulation and lymphatic drainage; boosting collagen production to decrease fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin texture; and releasing the muscular tension that causes expression lines and impacts your mood.
This signature treatment may include other tools and techniques (at no additional cost) such as ear seeds, stick-on needles, facial cupping, or Far Infrared (FIR) Heat Therapy in order to address specific health & wellness concerns. This will be at your discretion and the discretion of the practitioner.
HEALTH INSURANCE
Many or most insurance policies will cover an Acupuncture & TCM treatment where acupuncture is applied by an R.Ac or R.TCMP. Peony Tree Medicine will provide you with receipts to submit to your insurance provider, but we do not do direct billing at this time. Wu’s Head Massage (Tuina) & Facial Guasha may or may not be covered by your insurance provider.
If you expect coverage, please contact your insurance provider to find out if they cover your desired treatment before your appointment to avoid surprises. If your plan does not cover acupuncture, tell your provider how important these treatments are to you!
CANCELLATION POLICY
We require at least 24 hours notice (by email or voicemail) to cancel or reschedule your appointment. You may also cancel or reschedule online or via the Peony Tree Medicine App up to 24 hours before your appointment. Missed appointments or cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time are subject to a fee equal to 80% of the full appointment cost. Please note that insurance companies will not cover cancellation or no-show fees.
